In short, BIL is an open, self-organizing, emergent, arts, science, society and technology unconference inspired by the TED Conference. In many ways, BIL is the analog to TED.

We share the motto of spreading ideas to a larger community which will impact the audience through a wide spread of topics delivered by the speakers.

History & Roots

The concept of the BIL Conference India started in May 2015 when an enthusiastic team proposed the idea of establishing BIL Conference in India. The idea was to simply get a group of people to make the BILders community stronger in India. Karim from BIL Tunisia started guiding the BILders team in India and helped Navneet Peri and Haree Prasaad to give a kick start to BIL India. As the group quickly snowballed from a handful of people to nearly twenty in a matter of weeks.

Sri Harsha Rani joined this community soon who played an important role in expanding this to other cities and thus started a journey of volunteers who were eager to start a BIL of their own. Most of the planning was done through the online communication channels and brought people together from various cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Salem, Mumbai, Delhi and the rest of the cities in India to form a team that can collaboratively form a community of BILders. This allowed anyone interested in making something cool happen able to contribute.

BIL India thus started to take off from its root and get to its first event planning in the year 2017 with a lot of BIL events happening across the country.
